Jesus in the Old Testament?  You Bet!  When Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, was on this earth, the respected rabbi taught about Himself from the Old Testament (there was no New Testament at the time).  After His resurrection, He said to His disciples, "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:  Ought not Messiah to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory?  And beginning at Moses and the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures (the Jewish Scriptures) the things concerning Himself" (Luke 24:25-27 KJV).  Your Christian faith is built upon the Jewish Tanakh (the Old Testament).  Therefore we should be able to go through the Jewish Scriptures and find Jesus virtually everywhere.  That is exactly what we do in Finding Jesus in the Old Testament (the Jewish Scriptures).

In this book we go step-by-step through each book of the Old Testament and identify the references to Israel's Messah.  We show how these verses, many understood by ancient Jewish rabbis to be Messianic, pointed to, and were fulfilled by Yeshua ben Josef (Jesus son of Joseph), as recorded in the New Testament.  We discuss nine references to Messiah in the first book of the Bible, the Book of Genesis.  We found eight more in the second book, the Book of Exodus; and so on through all 39 books of the Old Testament.

We even discover several places which indicate the exact time Messiah will arrive for His first coming.  For instance, in Genesis we are told it will be before Israel loses its genealogies and the right to make its own laws.  That happened in 70 AD when Jerusalem and the Temple were destroyed.  After the Babylonian Captivity and the Jewish return to their land, they rebuilt a new temple.  However, it was not even close to the spendor of Solomon's Temple which the Babylonians had destroyed.  The prophets predicted that it would be greater, because the promised Messiah would walk through its doors.  That Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, about 40 years after Messiah Jesus taught and performed His miracles in it.  And there are more.

There are also a number of additional bonuses in this book.  For instance, we discovered, some Jewish rabbis back in the 14th Century who inadvertently fell upon something unique about the Torah (the books of Moses - the first five books of the Old Testament) which has since been confirmed by computers.  It absolutely cannot be duplicated by humans or computers, and I believe proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that the first five books of the Bible were dictated word-for-word by God Himself.  You will also get special insight into the uniqueness of the Hebrew language, it's unusual 22 letter "aleph-bet" (which is also its system of numbers), and many cultual insights which will help you understand much more of what was going on in those hard to understand Old Testament stories.  You will also get a crash course on Hebrew poetry, which, unlike English poetry, never rhymes.

This book is written in easy-to-understand, layman's English.  You will not want to put it down, but it is divided in such a way as to have logical places to pause before picking up the book again.
